TAKE THE NEXT STEP...

Become a GROUP CAPTAIN!

Group captains play a key role in organizing a team of walkers and runners who are enegerized to collect pledges for the Walk/5K Run to support the ongoing work of SVPS. Register TODAY and attend the GROUP CAPTAINS' BREAKST (see info to the right) where you will meet other group captains and be equipped with all the tools you will need to lead a successful team.

I'm a Group Captain . . . now what?

Here is our Top 10 list of things a Group Captain can do: 
1.  Invite 5 friends to join your team.
2.  Ask your pastor for his support in promoting the Walk/5K Run at your church.
3.  Distribute a pledge brochure to everyone in your congregation.
4.  Do a Walk/5K Run presentation during a church service.
         (A 6-minute testimonial from a client is available on DVD. Please ask.)
5.  Set up a Walk/5K Run display table.
6.  Invite an SVPS staff member to speak during a church service.
7.  Announce the Walk from the pulpit.
8.  Publish bulletin announcements.*
9.  Use a PowerPoint announcement.*
10. Check in with and encourage your walkers/runners.
