Now is the time . . . to sign up for BBB 2010!
Baby Bottle Boomerang is a great opportunity for church families to have hands-on involvement in a simple project that helps babies and their moms and dads. Most groups hold their kick-offs in January or September, but BBB works anytime of the year.
Our goal is to have 110 groups participate in 2010 by taking over 8,000 bottles to their church or other organization. Please sign up at your earliest convenience!
Here's how it works:
On a designated Sunday at your church, you make baby bottles available for families and individuals to take home and fill with coins and bills or even checks. Several weeks later, they return the bottles on an announced date. You return the bottles to SVPS (that’s the boomerang!), where we process them and take them to the bank.
Anyone from 2 to 92 can take part by taking a bottle home to fill with loose change. The appealing bottles are also an ongoing reminder about the sanctity of human life.
If you are interested in coordinating Baby Bottle Boomerang at your church, please contact the SVPS events team and your pastor. Dani will send you detailed instructions and help you through the process.
Sanctity of Human Life Sunday on January 24 is a GREAT kick-off date; however, we would be glad to work with you on another timeframe.
Many churches promote the program from the pulpit. Others do it through Sunday School classes or small groups. Some churches have come up with creative ways to collect the bottles, such as having cribs or playpens at the back of the church or in the foyer.
